Pakistan says it found Indian-made IEDs

Published: Feb. 19, 2010

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Pakistani security forces claimed Friday they discovered materials for improvised explosive devices in South Waziristan they said were made in India.

Security forces speaking with Pakistan's Dawn newspaper said they found five containers of explosives with "Reliance Industries Ltd, Jamnagar, Gujarat, India" printed on their labels.

The containers were allegedly at a suspected militant base in South Waziristan where Pakistani forces have been fighting insurgents since October.

Nuclear foes Pakistan and India blame each other for regional instability in the fallout from the November 2008 attacks on Mumbai. The Pakistani militant group Lashkar-e-Toiba claimed responsibility for the Mumbai attacks.

Tensions escalated recently over skirmishes associated with the disputed region of Kashmir. In January, Pakistani paramilitary forces said Indian troops fired on their positions in Lahore. India denied the allegations.

Meanwhile, a previously unknown group calling itself Lashkar-e-Toiba al-Alam claimed responsibility from Pakistan for a weekend attack in the western Indian city of Pune. The group said it was upset that New Delhi refused to discuss the issue of Kashmir during upcoming talks with Islamabad.

Pakistani officials told Dawn the IED issue would be raised with Indian diplomats during bilateral talks.

Polypropylene is one the most common polymers around. It is a thermoplastic polymer, made by the chemical industry and used in a wide variety of applications, including packaging, textiles (e.g. ropes, thermal underwear and carpets), stationery, plastic parts and reusable containers of various types, laboratory equipment, loudspeakers, automotive components, and polymer banknotes. An addition polymer made from the monomer propylene, it is rugged and unusually resistant to many chemical solvents, bases and acids.

Reliance Industries Limited is Asia's largest manufacturer of Polypropylene (PP). With a combined capacity of over 1 million tonnes, Reliance figures amongst the Top Eight Polypropylene producers in the world. Reliance holds a 70% share of the Indian Market and caters to 3% of the worlds consumption of PP.

The quality of products meet the highest international standards and is being exported to more than 30 countries in Europe, Japan, Middle East, China and other Southeast Asian countries.

It is crossing all bounds of credulity. Should the world now stop exporting even packaging material o Pakistan because they can't keep themselves from using it in bombs?
