Thumbs up Pakistan must play bigger Afghanistan role: Merkel

Pakistan must play bigger Afghanistan role: Merkel

Sunday, January 31, 2010
BERLIN: German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said Pakistan should be more closely involved in solving the Afghan conflict.

In a newspaper interview, due to be published on Sunday, she said: “There will be no peace in this region unless Pakistan carries its share of responsibility.”

For a comprehensive solution, “we need a much greater involvement of Afghan authorities and the inclusion of neighbouring countries, in particular Pakistan,” Merkel told German weekly Welt am Sonntag.

Germany has said it is committed to boosting troop level in Afghanistan and nearly doubling civilian aid to create the conditions to start a withdrawal from next year. But Merkel has refused to set a date for the withdrawal of troops, saying this could encourage the Taliban to lay low for a while and then launch a big attack.

“A withdrawal without reaching our goals and a unilateral German pull out would not be a handover of responsibility but an act of irresponsibility,” she said.

However, polls show that a sizeable majority of Germans favour an immediate withdrawal from Afghanistan.

We and the rest of the world knows that afghan problem has been stuck to us like a plague ever since we got involved with it, we have the largest refugee camp of afghans in the world. Maybe this is a indicator from Merkel that it is time to put Pakistan into confidance. The Istambul conference also stressed the need for Pakistan and the immediate countries arround afghanistan to sit together and solve this mess.

Maybe Merkel and al those asking us to play a bigger role can get us get rid of the parasites we've been tollerating on out soil first. I'm sure Germany or USA is big enough to take 2.5+ million refugees.

So much love for your Muslim brothers!

The same ones from whom you got all your "heroes" after which you name the Nodongs and M-11s!

I think they have earned that by lending the names of the bandits. No. ;)

Ahh I see that you love to love in the past. Why? Because thats where you get most of your bs you're trying to project on todays Pakistan.

But I will still give you my opinion which is that a parasite still is a parasite and it will continue to be a parasite if it feeds itself eating up its host.
So present it in a goldenbox or a religious cover, to me they will still be parasites.

Are all Afghans in Pakistan parasites?

How are they feeding themselves eating up the host?
