Surprise “banana” being sold between Rs.40 – 50 per dozen in Karachi
On last Sunday ( March 13, 2011) when I enquired the rates of banana that I am much surprised and shocked that so right rate normal BANANA being sold. I think this time Banana people turn to earn extra money and I would say in our city ( Karachi ) Government never keep check and balance system to control the prices of commodity, daily essential and fruits.

Which means what traders suggest prices than he can sale and nobody can stop or questioned? I think our country is Paradise for traders to earn abnormal profits but only middle class people suffers.

Tell how to control prices and if any one charging extra amount no one yet punished or fined. In the Holy month of Ramzan prices reach to its peak. We Muslim, offer namaz and keeping fasting but never think for own flow people and realized how they can eat fruits when a traders charging more than double prices.

Please stop for earning more than double which is total HARRAM way of earning and our Islamic teaching also condemn and never appreciate such type of earnings.

Thats the funniest thing you have said so far....and believe me when I say I do find you funny.

Anyway the reason why I questioned you was because its not just the ''surprise bananas'' (I wonder whether they are different to the normal bananas) that are reaching sky high with their prices. Atta, chawal etc?

Pakistan is as expensive if not more than some places in Europe. Take sugar for example, one back of 'Grand Pont' 1kg sugar costs 69pence in the UK.......

And in Pakistan- one bag of totally unbranded/unguaranteed sugar costs around 120 ruppess.

And so on and so forth when it comes to the other bare necessities.

What has the poor to buy? Peanuts? Oh damn I forget thay are expensive too, so in other words from our government ''Less privileged people are not welcome to live let alone eat, drink, breathe''.

yes!! lets have a revolution .Banana prices are so high we cant have them daily. That is curtailing our basic human rights to have our daily dose of banana. Bhai, in a country where staple diet items like naan and Daal prices are sky rocketing, why only cry over banana? And to be honest what do you expect when we have people like Zardari implanted over our heads by means of the world famous democratic process(not that I think that democracy is wrong if practiced inletter and spirit!!!) where people sell their votes and give votes on the basis of Biradari and Local Zagir Daar rather than pure merit. Let this process continue and give people time to learn that selling votes will get you more misery and things will gradually improve over the yrs. mean while have a banana on weakly basis rather than daily!!!
