KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Wednesday said commissioner system will soon be restored in the Province.

Talking to Geo TV, the Chief Minister said all the coalition parties have been taken into confidence in this regard after holding talks.

He said a meeting of the core committee is presently underway to discuss the future of the local bodies system.

Similar meetings held twice in the past had failed to produce any result.

Sources are describing the current meeting as of particular significance.

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan Wednesday said that the Local Government set up is better compared to the commissioner system.

He said the LG system is in harmony with the aspirations of the people and that the existing system can be rectified if it had any flaws.

The Governor said that the people have wholeheartedly welcomed the existing system, seeing its qualities. The existing system has transferred powers to the lowest level, he added.
