Re: The Pathans-Our Pride!
While I think the Pathans are on the whole a brave race, there are so many myths perpetuated about them in Pakistan and Afghanistan that are patently false. They have been subdued many times in history, in fact more than they have subdues others.
The Mongols, Turks and Sikhs under Maharaja Ranjit Singh are just some of the examples. There were many before them and many after.
Again, they don't even come close in terms of being a ferocious fighters to the Mongols in their prime. The Mongols uterly ravaged Afghanistan with a much smaller force than the opposition, carried ot several genocides including more than 150,000 just in Herat.
Just 21 Sikhs took on more than 10,000 Pathans in the battle of Sargarhi, a battle compared to the battle of Thermopylae (movie 300).
In Kashmir, the maharaja had a small army, the pathan kabayalis indulged in much looting and rapine and pilferage and alienated the Kashmiris from Pakistan. They were even delayed from reaching Srinagar because they were busy raping nuns in Christian chappel near Barmula on the way. Time that allowed the IA to drop into the airport and send them packing as fast as they could.
Also, I don't know what was done by this "Sher Khan" that wiped out the shame of 1971! What was the highest honor given to him by the "enemy"? How is a military force of 1 million (not all deployed against Pakistan) 6 times bigger and more powerful than a military force of 600,000 all deployed against India? All pathetic myths perpetuated to believe something patently false.
It is important to keep the perspective and know the correct facts while discussing such issues.

Dont take it seriouly! It was not directed to you, your brain cant handle a simple video by an amature!!
Anywaz, the battle of Sargarhi where the Sikhs fought in their castle/strongehold which was tactocally placed and located with all the weaponary against the sword bear Pathans? Also i know it was do or die for the Sikhs and they shyted inside the fort as they never got the guts to come out and fight! BTW, you forgot the mention the Sikh of died while shyting in his bathroom in fear to go out and fight the Pathans in that battle!
And lastly, you mean that one has to be cruel, ravishing and devastating to earn the title of bravery! How stupid!

But many amateurs in Pakistan take these amateur comments too seriously. Like the 1 M = 10 H comment unless they are brought down to the ground by the reality. Repeatedly!

I know that the 21 Sikhs fought very bravely and the 10,000 barbarians shyted in the open seeing their bravery. This shyt thing is the imagination of a shytty mind.
It was do or die for your 90,000 in BD too. What did they do, raise their arms at the first sight of armed soldiers while merrily killing and raping civilians before that!

Don't trouble your little mind too much by trying to extrapolate what is being said!
I never said what you are trying to infer. The Mingols defeated the Afghans and Arabs and other Muslims while being a small fraction of their numbers, perhaps even an inferior ratio than Israel is against Arabs.

Well by the number of times that you have 'inofrmed' us about this 1 Vs 10 BS here on this forum, tells me that it is YOU who is obssessed with this statement and not us!
Grow up!
BTW, why you always have to bring up '71 and this ratio thingy in evevry post/thread/argument of yours? It shows your lack of ability to counter an argument, serioulsy, while we all know that you can do better.

Yes!
Fortfied fort.
Higher ground.
Superior weaponary.
Dominating locality.
All round defence.
Holding a strong point.
etc etc and you call it a spectualr battle, great!
No doubt the Sikhs were victors there and they did fought back, but then using this particualr battle to underestimate or subdue the bravery of Pathans is plain stupid!
Why it is always difficult for you to acknowlge someone's achievment?
Pathans, Sikhs, Kurds, Balochs, those Gurkhas etc etc are a few recognized groups whom we all credit them with bravery! The video was just a testimonial of this and in no way did it undermined the Sikhs or whatever (expects that it kncoked a few indian balls), but then i am surprized to see you obssession and the INFRIORITY COMPLEX that you jump in a 'tribute-paying' video and poision it out with the 21 Vs 10,000!!
And oh, yes the Sikh dying on the comode during this battle is a fact! ;)
Dont over-load your comon sense while trying finding an excuse for runining the thread!!

I don't see it that way. 1971 is important because that is the last full scale war we had. That is the reality while much else is hypothetical and speculation.

Yes, they had some advantages but a massive disadvantage in number. It was a courageous battle and it is not only me who sees it that way, apparently the British did that too. Check the honors bestowed to the brave warriors after the battle.

Give me the source to start with.
Then do the soldiers stop discharging their bodily functions during a war? Did none of the Pakistani soldiers urinate, shyt or fart during the wars with India?
Why this pathetic obsessions with the irrelevant like this useless bit? Even if it were true, does it take away from the incredible bravery of the Sikh soldiers?

Try to learn tactics, you direly lack understanding in this subject!
If one machine gun stop a complete fcking brigade, there is nothing spectacular in the battle under discussion! Try to talk it out with a militaryman, i am sure anyone who understand military maneuvers and employment would teach you that shortage in numbers can be made up by clever placement of defences, weapons, obstacle and superior firepower!

Well, it is strange that a hindoo is talking like this. If that is the case why dont you consider 'some' races of yours as inferior?
BTW, every race, caste and nation has its attributes. These attributes are not just restricted till bravery, they may include uprightness, greed, cowardice, integrity etc etc. You know there are quite a few attributes which are linked with the hindoos, so is the case with the Muslims! And if you dont consider this as a fact why do you always and always declare the Muslims as a barbarians, cruel and blood thirsty? You have always extrapolated the misdeeds of a few bad guys over the entire group? Isnt it a contradiction?
And for your info, if you remember the history, the British even used to scrutinize a dog's breed before they kept it as a pet what to talk about enrolling an employee. Though i agree globalization has diminished these attributes (and i personally dont like to believe in them) but the the facts remain that they do exist!
# Lastly, you again contradicted with your own statement that 'Pathans are a brave RACE' lolzz....!!

You are contradicting yourself all over the place! Sometimes you call it amateur, sometimes tribute and sometimes fact. Decide what you want to say and then we can proceed!
Pathans are "brave" because they live a hardy life. That is it. Nothing intrinsically special about them.
If they live a civilized life in cities, they would be like any other city dweller in a few generations. A simple fact too difficult for you to understand?
These very conditions make them easily prone to betraying each other, selling out to the highest bidder etc. We all saw how 50000-60000 string Pathan Taliban ran with the tails between their legs in 2001, didn't we? We also saw the Pushtuns selling themselves to the Americans for a few dollars.
We also see the Pushtuns of the TTP as well as those in PA. What is common between them, both are Pushtuns?

The battle was fought in 1897! Many of the present modern day weapons were not available then.
This is the official account of the battle:
The battle
Details of the Battle of Saragarhi are considered fairly accurate, due to Gurmukh Singh signalling events to Fort Lockhart as they occurred. [5]
- Around 9.00am, around 10,000 Afghans reach the signaling post at Saragarhi.
- Sardar Gurmukh Singh signals to Col. Haughton, situated in Fort Lockhart, that they are under attack.
- Colonel Haughton states he cannot send immediate help to Saragarhi.
- The soldiers decide to fight to the last to prevent the enemy reaching the forts.
- Bhagwan Singh becomes the first injured and Lal Singh was seriously wounded.
- Soldiers Lal Singh and Jiwa Singh reportedly carry the dead body of Bhagwan Singh back to the inner layer of the post.
- The enemy break a portion of the wall of the picket.
- Colonel Haughton signals that he has estimated between 10,000 and 14,000 Pashtuns attacking Saragarhi.
- The leaders of the Afghan forces reportedly make promises to the soldiers to entice them to surrender.
- Reportedly two determined attempts are made to rush the open gate, but are unsuccessful.
- Later, Fort Lockhart is breached.
- Thereafter, some of the fiercest hand-to-hand fighting occurs.
- In an act of outstanding bravery, Ishar Singh orders his men to fall back into the inner layer, whilst he remains to fight. However, this is breached and all but one of the defending soldiers are killed, along with many of the Pashtuns.
- Gurmukh Singh, who communicated the battle with Col. Haughton, was the last Sikh defender. He is stated to have killed 20 Afghans, the Pashtuns having to set fire to the post to kill him. As he was dying he was said to have yelled repeatedly the regimental battle-cry "Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal (He who cries God is Truth, is ever victorious).
Having destroyed Saragarhi, the Afghans turned their attention to Fort Gulistan, but they had been delayed too long, and reinforcements arrived there in the night of 13-14 September, before the fort could be conquered. [1] The Afghans later stated that they had lost about 180 killed [6] and many more wounded [4] during the engagement against the 21 Sikh soldiers, but some 600 bodies [7] are said to have been seen around the ruined post when the relief party arrived (however, the fort had been retaken, on 14 September, by the use of intensive artillery fire, [8] which may have caused many casualties). The total casualties in the entire campaign, including the Battle of Saragarhi, numbered at around 4,800.
No mention of the commode that you are so focused on!
BTW, you have failed to give a source for that pathetic and useless claim. I can guess where it came from. I know a useless pathetic member on another forum who made a similar claim without any credible source.

Check this:
Reception
[edit] British parliament
When the gallantry of Saragarhi was recounted to the Parliament of the United Kingdom, the recitation drew a standing ovation from the members. The saga of Saragarhi was also brought to the notice of Queen Victoria.
“ "The British, as well as the Indians, are proud of the 36th Sikh Regiments. It is no exaggeration to record that the armies which possess the valiant Sikhs cannot face defeat in war" - Parliament of the United Kingdom[5] ” “ "You are never disappointed when you are with the Sikhs. Those 21 soldiers all fought to the death. That bravery should be within all of us. Those soldiers were lauded in Britain and their pride went throughout the Indian Army. Inside every Sikh should be this pride and courage. The important thing is that you must not get too big-headed it is important to be humble in victory and to pay respect to the other side." - Field Marshal William Joseph Slim, 1st Viscount Slim[9] ” [edit] Commemorative tablet
The tablet (pictured right), inscription reads;

Tablet commemorating Saragarhi, raised by the British Empire
“ "The Government of India have caused this tablet to be erected to the memory of the twenty one non-commissioned officers and men of the 36 Sikh Regiment of the Bengal Infantry whose names are engraved below as a perpetual record of the heroism shown by these gallant soldiers who died at their posts in the defence of the fort of Saragarhi, on the 12 September 1897, fighting against overwhelming numbers, thus proving their loyalty and devotion to their sovereign, the Queen Empress of India, and gloriously maintaining the reputation of the Sikhs for unflinching courage on the field of battle." ” [edit] Order of Merit
All the 21 Sikh non-commissioned officers and soldiers of other ranks who laid down their lives in the Battle of Saragarhi were posthumously awarded the Indian Order of Merit, the highest gallantry award of that time, which an Indian soldier could receive by the hands of the British crown, the corresponding gallantry award being Victoria Cross. This award is equivalent to today's Param Vir Chakra awarded by the President of India.
The names of the 21 recipients of the gallantry award are:
- Havildar Ishar Singh (regimental number 165[10])
- Naik Lal Singh (332)
- Lance Naik Chanda Singh (546)
- Sepoy Sundar Singh (1321)
- Sepoy Ram Singh (287)
- Sepoy Uttar Singh (492)
- Sepoy Sahib Singh (182)
- Sepoy Hira Singh (359)
- Sepoy Daya Singh (687)
- Sepoy Jivan Singh (760)
- Sepoy Bhola Singh (791)
- Sepoy Narayan Singh (834)
- Sepoy Gurmukh Singh (814)
- Sepoy Jivan Singh (871)
- Sepoy Gurmukh Singh (1733)
- Sepoy Ram Singh (163)
- Sepoy Bhagwan Singh (1257)
- Sepoy Bhagwan Singh (1265)
- Sepoy Buta Singh (1556)
- Sepoy Jivan Singh (1651)
- Sepoy Nand Singh (1221)
So surely, your acknowledgement is not required or missed.

If that is the case why dont you consider 'some' races of yours as inferior?

Not making sense!

BTW, every race, caste and nation has its attributes. These attributes are not just restricted till bravery, they may include uprightness, greed, cowardice, integrity etc etc. You know there are quite a few attributes which are linked with the hindoos, so is the case with the Muslims!
|
Again this is something you believe, not us.
What are the attributes to be associated with Muslims because a million strong Iraqi army folded without fight in GW-1 and 2, because Saudi requested the USA to protect Mecca and Medina from a fellow Muslim and did not trust that any Muslim force was capable of that, that 90,000 of you surrendered without fight and with a very small number of casualties (while doing what they did before surrendering), that 1.6 billion Muslims are not able to take on a tiny nation of a few millions?
Jews were considered not a warlike race. They suffered for thousands of years without ever fighting back. But when they had their back to the walls, they kicked the Arab arse.
This alone proves that people are not innately brave or cowards, it is the circumstances that make them behave a certain way.
You think conversion from Hindu to Muslim made you brave from a coward?

And if you dont consider this as a fact why do you always and always declare the Muslims as a barbarians, cruel and blood thirsty? You have always extrapolated the misdeeds of a few bad guys over the entire group? Isnt it a contradiction?
|
I can only say that you fail to read my posts in context.

And for your info, if you remember the history, the British even used to scrutinize a dog's breed before they kept it as a pet what to talk about enrolling an employee. Though i agree globalization has diminished these attributes (and i personally dont like to believe in them) but the the facts remain that they do exist!
|
Disagree. The British may have done something with the dogs and that doesn't necessarily make it right.

# Lastly, you again contradicted with your own statement that 'Pathans are a brave RACE' lolzz....!!

Replied already.

So you mean that an amateur cant even tribute someone
You mean if i want to say that vinod is a tough nut to crack, i had to be a professional, right? Really vinod, you had run out of ideas!! Sorry for that!

Well, you have to decide if you want to call the video amateur or fact. If you don't agree with the contents, matter over. If you want to defend it, do it openly.
Don't vacillate!
Yawn.....

Lolzz.. but nobody died doing the act!!

And you know that! How?
Did you check the posterior of each one of them?
Quote:

Exactly, even if we believe your claims to be true, does it take away from the incredible bravery of the Pathan soldiers?
|
Where, in the battle of Sargarhi? 10000 against 21!
Incredibly brave indeed.
Good that you see it.

You need to learn alot about the 'element of surprise!'

Like that night attack in 1965 by India on your "defense day"?

Please, do read some military! The Mujaheddin did achieve TOTAL surprise!
|
You mean the NLI? They did achieve surprise but obviously the generals had not done their homework right. No need to elaborate!

Please quote me another single incident where the issue of refugees culminated in an all out war! Or else keep the noble BS with you

Quote me a genocide and refugees of this magnitude in the last several decades.

Then why the pathetic attempt to bring BS and Sikh?

The battle was obviously to contradict the claim that Pathans are unbeatable. Your claim is still pending scrutiny.
