A Tale of Four Candles Committed to Mission of Peace
Hope plays very important role in our life, both individual as awell as collective life. At times we see our future very bleak and we are disappointed. But thehope keeps us alive and enthousiastic.
In today’s world when we think of our future in terms of peace in the world, we normally do not see good prospects. This may discourage the sincere people from working for the cause of peace. But the hope keeps the people committed to their tasks.
The theme has been expressed in a small poem from Thailand. It’s a tale of four candles. The candles of peace, love and faith do not want to keep their flames alive due to despair and extinguish. However the candle of hope lits itself and also gets the other candles to lit.
The question arises: what impact this poem should create on the stakeholders of the peace mission? Should the people committed to the cause keep striving hard or give in? Some body may have better answer.
