Dear Neo/management,

You have been good to me and provided me with a membership when I was banned from the other site.

As such I have no quarrel against you.

However, on principle I would no longer like to be a member of any forum or website that has a unilateral Pakistani controlling interest.

I would therefore request that you terminate my membership here as I do not plan to either visit or contribute henceforth.

All my contributions moving forward shall be on a India-Pakistan neutral forum, and I hope to see old friends there.

Thank you once again for your hospitality and warmth during my short stay here.

It was good while it lasted.

Hi Doc, I don't believe in one sided good bye's, though whatever the reason may be for this sudden change, I respect your decision.
As far as this forum is concerned, we have been very tolerant and respectful towards all non Pakistani's.

The door will remain open for you in case you decided to come back.

I will recommend WAB, World Affairs Board; It's an Anglo-American board and I have many good friends there.

Webmaster, I have never ever been a member of any similar Indian owned/Indian controlled forum.

Believe me, most here and elsewhere would have known if I was. My writing style is pretty distinctive, pseudonyms notwithstanding.

After a year of crossing swords with you guys/girls (Pakistanis) there is one thing I have realised:

When it comes to India and Pakistan, there is nothing called a neutral playing field.

Does that mean a bunch of post-pubescent Pakistani upstarts (no reference to anyone here), big men/woman on the internet, and yet to do something meaningful in life, are going to hound me out of a fair fight and on to an Indian owned / Indian controlled forum?

No.

There is really no fun, and no challenge, in hitting someone when he cannot hit back. Both fists flailing, feet and knees and elbows and teeth too. I am pretty old school in a lot of ways.

So the only option that leaves me with is a neutral forum which provides me with an equal opportunity platform to engage you guys on.

Either that, or the Utopian ideal of a forum which is co-owned right down the middle by Indians and Pakistanis, controlled and moderated and administered by both, with mature guys and girls from both sides at the helm of things, with suitable checks and balances and controls to prevent bias creeping in.

Anything less than that is not acceptable to me anymore and hence I must leave ..... but not without an element of sadness and regret.

Jana I have never ever used abusive verbiage in any platform of life ..... be it real life or the cyber world. I am too classy for that and I suspect you know it, so quit trying to needle me. Its very easy to get down to gutter level and start abusing ..... even my servants can do that. I do not need a post grad medical and management education from Ivy league schools for that.

I don't know where you got the "abusive" part. The note I got was "enough of your derogatory anti-pakistan statements."

The fact of the matter is that for all the purported broad minded "international forum" unbiasedly secular nation- and religion-neutral stance you guys like to spout, there are certain "holy cows" which are unsaid no-go areas, especially for us Indians. And no, the same courtesy is rarely if ever afforded to us. The least one could do in such a case would be to grow a set and admit as such, in your face, and not continue with the "see how liberal we pakistanis can be" charade.

At least similar Indians sites are open about considering you to be the enemy and keeping you out. I may or may not agree with such a stance, but I appreciate the honesty, the candour, and the absence of ivory-tower hypocrisy.

The really irritating part is that it took a year of my life to realise and accept that. A year of my most articulate and heartfelt thoughts and emotions and efforts that I could have more effectively and fruitfully shared elsewhere, with people who know the meaning of a level playing field. And who are not hypocrites with their heads shoved deep into the sand.

I don't do one liners. I don't indulge in brain farts. I don't do religion or race or personal abuse. But I call it as I see it, and that is the sort of freedom of expression I have come to accept as a birth-right as an Indian. If that is difficult to digest for Pakistani big shots on a Pakistani forum, then Doc will move elsewhere and continue in the same vein.

You cannot gag someone permanently, you can only make sure you hide within your own cosy four walls with green ear-muffs on so you do not have to hear the stinging truth.

But the truth will prevail. And it will be out there. Should you ever decide to come slinking out of your own domain on to no-man's land.

I am too old now to change in my ways. I am what I am and I say what I think. If that does not go down well with the bruised egos of snot nosed Pakistani pups then that is just too bad. And I'll be damned if I allow myself to stand trial and be judged by such in their banana republic courts ever again.

Only 800 odd posts in a year Jana. Thanked close to a thousand times ..... by Indians and Pakistanis. Kisi ke ghar mein ghus kar usko maarne ka jo maza hai, woh apne hi chaar diwari ke bheetar baith kar faltu ka roab jatane mein kahan, kyun Jana?
