She was very educated and went to many prestigious institutes all over the world. She could have been anything she wanted to be, with the twist of events she had take responsibilities of her father the then prime minister to be hanged. Her mother was made into chairmen she was baton attacked having head injuries she never recovered from. Both jailed for many years, yet determined to take political revenge. Bhutto was more popular and stronger; she faced challenges and lived in harsh jail conditions she lived up to standards that her father principally left. Yet tragedy always followed her, there she strives and with rigor she claims political maturity from jail, her brother dead in France. Though it was painful she did not cry to show the male clergy she was tough and could endure losses and sacrifices. She soon took exile battered with loss of hearing from one side. She had lost many in this political struggle a father and brother. She ended her exile shortly after and reached Pakistan, she was powerful than ever. It was now in her reach to take revenge as the people rallied around her only spoke of it, they were ready to put their lives, desperate for change. Though in her reach she did not use and was rewarded, she became the first lady Prime Minister.

Her father once said I will sacrifice myself for this nation and so will my children, Benazir she was another brave that died of this Bhutto family. You can hate them and you can pity them, but you wont forget them.

Rs1 billion monument to BB planned

Dawn
By Khawar Ghumman
Sunday, 27 Dec, 2009

ISLAMABAD, Dec 26: The government is all set to build a Rs1 billion monument at the site in Rawalpindi city where former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in a gun-and-suicide bomb attack on December 27, 2007; sources told Dawn.

Though the monument would be built in the historical Liaquat Bagh, which falls under the administrative control of the Punjab government, the federal government would provide the fund for the project.

Leader of the house in the Senate Nayyer Bukhari is heading a steering committee which has been given the responsibility to oversee the project. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is expected to perform the ground breaking at the site on Sunday, marking the second death anniversary of Ms Bhutto.

Faisal Warsi, who deals with public relations of Senator Bukhari, said a Karachi-based architecture company, ARCO, had been tasked to design the monument.

In response to a question, Mr Warsi explained that construction of the project would cost around Rs1 billion and the federal government would be bearing all the expenses.

Explaining the main features of the monument, he said its entrance would be called Bab-i-Benazir and would have a tower in the centre surrounded by a water pool. A special wall called Dewar-i-Awam would be built with Daughter of the East inscribed on it.

Moreover, the entire Liaquat Bagh would be transformed and given a new look. Offices of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Rescue-15 and one water tank would have to be removed from the area.

He said expenditures incurred on their relocations have been included in PC-I. In response to another question, he said all legal formalities have been fulfilled including endorsement by the city district government Rawalpindi.

Mr Warsi said a recently-held meeting of the steering committee in parliament house discussed minute details of the monument. Initially, there was a suggestion to build the monument in F-9 Park considering availability of an open space and direct control of the federal government.

However, later there was a consensus that the structure would be constructed in Liaquat Bagh.

1,000,000,000 Pakistani Rupees = $11,874,369.69 USD

She didn't mean that much to us...holy **** !!!!!!

Another scam in the name of the Bhutto family...Government should hang for this. I hope all of these personalities are erased from Pakistani history books in the future including the naive Benazir.

Total BS. These people are spending millions of people money when millions of pakistani goes to bed without food. It's so unfair that it's criminal. Allah has declare in qur'an clearly that those will not be forgiven if they take other people wealth without their concession. I do not understand this waste when country is alredy facing a burden of mega debt. No wonder genaral comes in picture time to time. This monument serve no one but political morons. My country has same problem.

One thing for sure that pakistanis are not wahabis as it perceive by outsider. When king faisal died, he was simply buried under stone with out even any structure yet we are building mega structure around grave yard.

But then we have always cared more for our dead then the ones that live. We reap rewards from building memorials for the dead knowing fully they do not need it any moire where tehey are.Any ways who cares for the Sods that live.
