Default Handy Household tips.

Hello People
If you know some handy tips please post them here....

CLEAN CALLS
To clean the mouth piece of your phone simply dab mouthwash on your cloth before you wipe. The mouthwash has safe antiseptics and a fresh smell. So you can enjoy those long distance calls without picking up a cold.

PICTURE THIS
To remove a photograph that’s stuck to the glass of a photo frame simply hold a hair dryer on a low, cool setting up to the glass. The photo will come away easily.

BAL-LOONY
Do you always spend ages hunting for your car in massive car parks? Why not attach a brightly coloured balloon to your aerial so you’ll spot the vehicle a mile off.

Chewing Gum

If something you own gets gum over it, either stick it in the freezer, and wait for the gum to freeze, whereupon you can scrape it off with a knife, or alternatively use vinegar, which makes it easy to scrub off.

Dusty Screen

Stop dust building up on a TV/computer screen by putting a few drops of fabric conditioner in some water and wiping on the screen. You'll be amazed how much better the picture is without dust!

Freez-er no more!
After defrosting a freezer that is not frost free wipe it dry and spray with a spray cooking oil so the next time you defrost it does not take as long as the ice loosens up very quick.

Iron
Remove scorch marks from an iron by rubbing it with a warmed-up solution of equal parts white distilled vinegar and salt. If that doesn’t work, use a cloth dampened with full-strength white distilled vinegar.

Light bulbs
Rub a small amount of aromatherapy oil onto light bulbs (make sure they are turned off) when the lights are turned on the bulbs heat up and you get a lovely scent!

Glass vases etc
You can use Alka-seltzer to clean a lot of things. Leave them in about an inch of water in a bowl and then use it to clean up metal items, vases, even jewellery.

Mirrors during shower
To keep your mirrors from fogging up during a shower..... Clean your mirrors well, then apply shaving cream (not gel) to the mirrors and wipe until you can no longer see any. Works like a charm!

Ovens
Make your own oven cleaner from one tablespoon of bicarbonate soda mixed with a good cup of hot water. Wipe the whole oven, including the glass door and shelves and the stain will gradually disappear (if that doesnt work.....then just use Cif or Mr. Muscle)

Hobs and cookers
To keep stainless steel splashbacks and hobs smear-free clean first and then rub over with a cotton wool with a tiny amount of baby oil on it. Gets rid of smear and seems to stop food getting crusted on.
