The king of Saudi Arabia, a close ally of Pakistan, has labelled President Asif Ali Zardari as the greatest obstacle to the country's progress.

"When the head is rotten, it affects the whole body," King Abdullah was quoted as saying by the New York Times in leaked US diplomatic cables.

Zardari is reportedly unpopular at home and has spent 11 years in jail on charges ranging from corruption to murder, but has never been convicted.

A spokesperson for the president, who is currently on a visit to Sri Lanka has dismissed the reported insult, saying that Zardari considers King Abdullah his "elder brother".

"The so called leaks are attempt to create misperceptions between two brotherly Islamic countries.

The leaks is a tornado of swine poo and all the leaders of various nations were out on a walk when it hit, lets see who escapes unscathed and unsoiled (mind the pun) oops unspoiled.

To me it doesn't matter what someone calls someone else in private.

But to see many people actually enjoying the insult to the president (even in private) shows the depth to which he is hated in Pakistan.

^^ Well in that he is not alone. No politician can survive with that entity called "shame".

He is just a bit more blatant and doesn't even pretend he cares. A more honest "corrupt" in that sense. ;)
