Pakistan, Netherlands to re-launch bilateral consultations

ISLAMABAD : Pakistan and Netherlands have decided to re-launch and institutionalize bilateral consultations on global, regional and bilateral issues of mutual interest.

The decision came at a meeting in Hague between Additional Foreign Secretary for Europe Mohammad Naeem Khan and Director General for Political Affairs of the Netherlands Pieter de Gooijere on Thursday.

Both sides emphasized that deepening the partnership between Netherlands and Pakistan was a diplomatic priority for both countries and accorded with the fundamental interests of their peoples.

The two sides discussed in depth international and regional developments and reaffirmed their commitment to promote and maintain international peace and stability.

The next round of consultations will be held in Islamabad in 2011.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Netherlands Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry and Director for Asia and Oceania of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs Karel Hartogh participated in the meeting.
