Pakistan to become business hub in Asia: French envoy

Friday, June 18, 2010

CHAKWAL: French Ambassador to Pakistan Daniel Jouanneau has said that Pakistan is passing through a critical time but still there are bright chances of investment in the country.

He was speaking at a seminar on health and safety awareness at Lafarge Pakistan Cement Limited at Karooli village here on Thursday. “Pakistan has a bright future and in coming days, it will emerge the biggest business centre in Asia as the French investors have invested a huge amount in the country,” he maintained.

The ambassador was of the view that the French government and its investors were showing keen interest in Pakistan. “Lafarge is not only the biggest cement group in France but a lead producer of construction material across the world.” He said that Chakwal was the custodian of ancient civilization and the establishment of cement factories had made the life of people more comfortable.

The ambassador said that the French government would provide all-out assistance to Pakistan to come out of the financial crunch. Later, he gave away prizes and certificates among the participants of the seminar.
