KARACHI: Pakistan’s first four-day International Gems and Jewellery Exhibition will be held from August 5 in Karachi, a statement said.

The exhibition is being organised under the aegis of the Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC), a subsidiary of Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) under the Industries and Production Ministry, it said.

Exhibitors from across the country, especially from the mining regions, have confirmed participation in the event and to display some of the world’s finest quality precious and semi-precious stones.

International buyers from Europe, United States, the Middle East, Far East, Central Asian countries and other parts of the world have shown keen interest and are expected to attend.

Approximately 100 exhibitors will be displaying their products and designs which will include a dazzling variety of gems and other precious stones, the hallmark of Pakistanís rich mineral resources and cultural heritage. In addition, indigenous stone-cutting machinery and equipment will also be on display.

Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company is organizing first Pakistan International Gems & Jewellery Exhibition (PIGJE) from August 05 to 08, 2010 at Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi

PGJDC has signed an agreement on April 23, 2010, with Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd for the event management of PIGJE. PGJDC is set to organize a dazzling PIGJE in Karachi, Pakistan. The event will showcase Gems & Jewellery Pakistan in its finest manner, highlighting traditional culture coupled with contemporary class of the sector. The event will bring out Pakistani gems and jewellery products in the most aesthetic style and will introduce foreign buyers to rich Pakistan market.

This exhibition will focus on exhibiting modern Pakistani jewellery, produced through latest technological interventions introduced in Pakistan. The intricate Pakistani jewellery and precious/semiprecious gemstones found in Pakistan will reveal an entire new market to foreign buyers. Hospitality will be extended to the international visitors of the show. Jewellers and gem dealers from all over the country will be offered to display their products. International companies will be welcomed to display their machinery at the Show.
