Super Cobra is a good option too let's see what happens. But 1 squadron of AH-1W is not enough, replacement for AH-1S and F will have to be undertaken soon. Mixture of Tiger/AH-1W/T-129 is not going to be easy on maintenance and logistics for PAA. I think AH-1W and T-129 is a good mixture. The problem is numbers and sophistication, these platforms are all expensive. Apache D is twice as expensive as Super Cobra.

PAF has god experience with operating the AH-1 Cobra and there are advantages we need to consider incase we order more of these birds.They are directly available and we can get spares from Turkey as reported earlier which will make them less vulnerable for future sanctions.
Ordering 24-48 more Cobra's will be a good close gap measure till we find better options for heavier gunships, preferably Turkish or Chinese designs.

Ofcourse I am not an expert in defence field but the Cobra seems like a logic choice. As part of our support for WoT they could even be provided on soft terms or fully under EDA programme.

If we do pursue in getting a Super Cobra than we should aim for AH-1W which boast new and improved features like helmet mounted sight and better performance engines. Super Cobra's will defiantly bring a new level of attack in the Army and we desperately need them for the tribal belt. We are fighting WoT with limited numbers of attack hellos which is a shame since we get told to do more?
