PTF is pround to be the first to bring out the news indeed, we are in talks with Volvo for a new power plant for block II. This would probably be the Volvo built and modified version of the GE 404 which is being used by Gripen NG.

Alittle more details please. What is the source, and why is this decision taken?.Why western and what would be the problems if sanctions are imposed?.What infrastructure will be available for overhgaul and repairs. Is local build/assembly an option?

I think the source is exrtemely reliable. When? Why would they risk everything on Russian or Chinese engine? I think they did this a year ago atleast. Sanctions? Why risking Russian problems? Why risking Chinese engine when talking about on time or reliability? Local building? For how many? A few hundred? Never an option.
