Post PAF always alert to any threat : Rao

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force said that PAF always ready to protect nation against internal and external threats.
Earlier, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force visited an operational Air Base, says a Press release here on Friday. In his address to the Airmen, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar said “PAF is proud of its Airmen involved in discharging their duties in Operation Rah-e-Nejat”.
He appreciated the high state of morale and motivation of all personnel and showed his satisfaction on the results achieved by them in the operations. He said that PAF is continuing to support Pak Army in SW and other agencies of FATA to eliminate the terrorists from the area by striking the targets identified by Army.
He reiterated that PAF plans and executes the operations with utmost care to avoid collateral damage.
He further added, “We must hone our operational skills and maintain highest level of operational preparedness as the country is facing internal and external threats, which are to be kept at bay, and we must therefore always be ready to respond with full force”.

Can someone please clarify for me who is threatening PAF from the outside at this moment, or do our leaders always feel the need to remind us that Pakistani's must live in constant threat from the outside? Boogey man syndrome. He should have wrapped up the speech after praising the pilots for their contributions in operations against Taliban, not elaborated on external threats. I know some people who almost have heart attacks when listening to these people make dire predictions, I wish the security establishment would tone down the rhetoric on the external threats and focus internally 100% when a press release is involved. We all know the current balance of air power in the region, so responding full force to every little fart in the region isn't an honest assessment needed at this time that needs to be made public and shows the world we are a nation of conspiracy theorists starting at the very top. These little details matter and are scrutinized much closer than people think, analyzed and internalized by people other than a nobody like me who work for institutions far more powerful than this humble little abode of ours.

These statement are usual. Indians do the same. It is just a way to remind it that we can have a war. I do no longer look at them cause it does not say more then we already know.

I appreciate your response Munir bahi and I know where you are coming from. But I believe that the best way to remind others of PAF's strength is through action, not showmanship and dangerous words that stab into the psyche of the nation at a time when people are frankly tired of hearing about fighting and threats especially having to juggle worrying about internal and external threats, it is also bad for investment prospects as economic outlooks always take into consideration the policies and words that come out of the state apparatus, and the last thing Pakistan needs to do right now is convey to the world that not only is the country burning from the inside, but that outside powers are encroaching as well.

The best force is a confident and quiet one. For example, the Indians are quietly turning their air force into Darth Vader's Imperial Starfleet (They can easily make a bigger circus out of MMRCA, aircraft carrier acquisitions, combat helicopter developments, etc. etc. and point to external threats as the whole reasoning, but they don't) while beyond visual range speeches, air - to - ground gloating, and 4.5 generation exaggerations are sustaining PAF. Just my opinion, feel free to take er down.
