Pakistan and China in J-10 fighter jet deal

KARACHI : China has agreed to sell Pakistan at least 36 advanced fighter jets in a landmark deal worth as much as $1.4bn, according to Financial Times.

Beijing will supply two squadrons of the J-10 fighter jet in a preliminary agreement that could lead to more sales to Pakistan in the future, the News Paper quoted a Pakistani official as saying.

The official said Pakistan might buy “larger numbers” of the multi-role aircraft in the future, but dismissed reports that Pakistan had inked a deal to buy as many as 150 of the fighter jets, the News Paper says.

Well, better then building "indeginous" LCA and incorporated lots of Israeli, US, Russia, Italian equipment and still fail. F15 is Saudia have Israeli wings. Pakistani block52 have Israeli fueltanks. Kurnass (Phantom) is an Israeli upgrade... etc etc. And I still doubt that J10 is copy of Lavi. The Chinese used everything they see as handy. You could say that PL12 is Amraam... Is it? I doubt that.

No, Israeli hardwork ends up being exploited by two of the strongest adversaries, China and Pakistan of its most important and largest arms customer India. Thats more ironic isn't it.

Diversity dear, never put all your eggs in one basket. PAF is modernising and there's room for atleast 4 new platforms. Block 52 F-16's and JF-17 already are on the way, FC-20 and another new platform will be added in near future.

Going by your logic I assume you have lost faith in Su-30, thats why you're ordering MMRCA.

Su-30 and MMRCA are two different class of fighters, one heavy and the other medium. one got PESA and other AESA. One is Air-dominance and one is multi-role fighter. This I call as diversity . Got it.

One is a JV and the other is coming with ToT in difeffernt role.

No, JF-17 and J-10 were both looked into and selected since we have a requirement to replace atleast 400 ageing jets. FC-20 is supposed to have longer range and weapon load, I am not an expert on this but I'm sure others will tell you the difference.
