What part of Israel is a "JEWISH" state that has implemented laws on the Jewish laws (Halacha)do you chose to ignore???? There is apparent boasting of..... (yet not observed at all) "influences of British and Canadian Laws" , which are sidelined, but the main courts of justice in Israel operates on a single halachic standard for the personal status of its citizens.
Anyway why do you think the Rabbinate court decided to preside over this case of Kashur if matters of civil interest arent dealt with in that manner????

Anyway apparently the man had converted to Judaism by a rabbi in America but his status as a Jew was not recognized by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.
Some new sources even cliamed that in America he is Jewish, based on descent, but not in Israel. His crime was that he had "consensual" sexual intercourse with a woman recognised as Jewish by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.
Other news sources claim that he was a druze (

Lo and behold apparently he is a manifestation of all three Israeli religions ie Christianity, Judism and Islam plus a sprinkle of Hinduism.
